re: MS SQL Server 7 {from a reposter}

Given the difficulties MS is in re: the Justice Department
& Internet Explorer, integrating SQL Server into NT might
not be the best marketing strategy....DOJ has been taking a
VERY dim view of the "get 'em hooked" strategy. I don't
think this is all about Win95 & Explorer, it is about how
MS packages and distributes ALL products. The final
outcome of this suit will definately change things. I also
read this a.m. in the Washington Post that Japan is beginning
to look into MS & has gone into the Japanese
offices on a document search. The issues are similar to
DOJ's complaints - anti-trust & anti-competition.

But, I also have a question for the DB gurus out there...
what about DRDA or the distributed relational databases?
As far as I know, only IBM DB2 has this ability & I
understand that is now Stonebraker's interest. Do they
see this as a new market? Inquiring minds.....

Thanks for the chance to chat....
