Now its 18 years! What happened to 10 years? I thought you were gearing us up for 2028. I've already updated my will that someone should keep an eye out and check the sp in 2028. Now I have to update it again to read 2036 ???

This is too comical. This might have the makings of a great sitcom!

ND said "When did I choose 1972?"

In Post 23346 (see below) or I'll paste the quote here for you - REFR at $0.80 would only have to rise to $1.60 to replicate the 1999 average gain and surpass ALL the gains since 1972.

Good grief, you're like talking to a block of concrete.

The NASDAQ has risen from 130 to 7503 since 1972. Your math is a bit off saying that a simple double would surpass all of the NASDAQ gains since 1972. It's such a nonsensical statement that I don't even think you believe it.

Caveat Emptor (especially when one has no clue how to perform a simple analysis)

The annual gain or loss in the NASDAQ 100 index from 1972 to present.
Dividends are not included.

Notice the difference in returns from 1998-1999 to 2000-2001. Then the crash in 2008, with a rebound in 2009.

REFR at $0.80 would only have to rise to $1.60 to replicate the 1999 average gain and surpass ALL the gains since 1972.
