goldworldnet:

I quit once for a year also and went back

I smoked camels for years. Started when I was a kid in junior high school. Played chess as a kid in an adult chess club. I often had two cigarettes burning at the same time in the ashtray during a tournament.

Smoked as an adult even though I had asthma and heart problems. It certainly contributed to my developing heart failure.

Anyways... with the asthma, it got painful to inhale and burned all the way down my throat. I had no choice but to quit! It wasn't will power, it was pain that got me to stop!

It took me about eight years before I finally lost the urge to smoke. Without the incentive of painful inhalation, I don't know if I could have quit.
