It depends on your definition of "life". Are you claiming that sperm and eggs aren't alive? Or aren't human?

What about stem cells, totipotent or not? Human or not?

When do you think life begins?

That's the wrong question.

Seeds are living things. Eggs are living things. But no one ever mistook an egg for a chicken. There are ovo-vegetarians and vegans. Vegans make a moral decision to give equal moral standing to the egg and the chicken. But they know the difference. An egg is ovoid and hard. A chick is fuzzy and peeps. A chick is a being. An egg is not.

We can assign moral standing to the unborn without abandoning critical thinking and blurring the distinction between born and unborn.

Hell, I am not sure exactly when, during bacterial reproduction, 1 individual becomes 2.

So, lets Simply the discussion and focus on my statement.

"When do you think life begins? Humans in particular and mammals in general?"

Let ignore, for now, the seeds and the chickens and focus on Humans in particular and mammals in general?

I am stating my belief (scientifically) that life begins at conception.

And what do you have before conception? Some organic molecules we call sperm and eggs?????
