It takes the form of carefully crafted actions behind the scenes, out of the public eye, avoiding loss of face by leaders in the offending company or nation. Maybe.. but it clearly didn't work for AMSC in their negotiations, and later lawsuit in China against Sinovel.. Totally blew off the charges, causing tremendous loss of face for AMSC, as well as jobs, market cap, and revenue.. Avoiding causing loss of face isn't much of a strategy when they have their hands in your pockets, and their buddies are stealing everything from your home.. I reserve that policy for when simple mistakes are made, not outright theft.. But maybe that's why Wilbur Ross is taking the lead in negotiating with China.. He's a Sino-phile and has some good relations over there.. But he's also a no BS kind of negotiator, which Trump likes.. politico.com Hawk
