Food 4 Thought..and a little fun

This is NOT a joke, nor is it really a test. The chart of reference will be in the P.S. section...so do yourself a favor and DON'T go there before doing the drill. I found this to be quite interesting and the reference area (P.S.) cleared up why I hung onto one of two unlikely creatures...have fun!

You are in a desert. You have with you the follwowing five animals: A lion, a cow,a monkey, a sheep and a horse. To escape the desert you are going to have to get rid of one of your animals. Which one do you drop? (You can use whatever logic you like BUT keep track of which animal is discarded and WHEN!) You have 4 animals left. The desert is burning up! It goes on for miles. Sand is everywhere.

You realize, to get out, you are going to have to drop another animal. Which will it be? You have 3 animals left. Walk, walk, walk... hot, hot, hot. Disaster! The Oasis you were looking for is dried up! You have no choice but to drop another animal. You have 2 animals left. Ok, it's a long hot walk. You can see the edge of the desert way up on the horizon. Unfortunately, you can only leave the desert with ONE animal. Which one do you drop and which one do you keep? Before looking at the "P.S., make sure you know which animal you dropped and in what order. <O.K. you can go look now>

T.R.

P.S. These answers are based on Japanese Archetypes. The desert represents a hardship. The animals represent... Lion = PRIDE, Monkey = YOUR CHILDREN, Sheep = FRIENDSHIP, Cow = BASIC NEEDS, Horse = YOUR PASSION.

So in the face of hardship you will sacrifice each of these things in turn. Your last animal represents the thing which you cling to at the expense of all others.

Find this interesting????

<Going to turn totally cyber?>

Okay, my point is that I try to achieve a balance between the computer and three dimensional reality, and usually I do a really good job of it (after a LOT of practice in the past getting it totally wrong). But once in awhile I fall over the edge again, and look around and suddenly realize that bills are stacking up, cats are begging to be petted (I throw catnip all over them to get them stoned so they don't care anymore, but you can't do that with a child), and I have been here five hours non-stop and managed to arrive at the noon hour without brushing my hair.

When my husband comes home from work and there is absolutely no evidence of my good works around our nest, no brooms or mops or dustcloths in motion, no whiff of dinner in the offing, newspapers and magazines accumulating unread, no seed in the bird feeder, and no art being created, but most specifically no NURTURING of anyone or anything, then I feel bad, like I have wasted the day. It is quite possible to fritter away your entire life right here at the keyboard, and I just don't feel good inside when I do that.

So here I am, online, explaining all that while it happens again around me. Sort of like the cyber addicts thread right here at SI--like an AA meeting in a bar!
