3Dfx vs Intel i740?
Chips as fast as RIVA but not yet available are not a threat to TDFX yet. Yes, if Intel builds a fairly fast chip that you can put right on the motherboard it makes an even greater percentage from each PC than it is currently doing. Not until the Intel chip comes close in performance to the currently available 3Dfx chip (hopefully Voodoo 2 fairly soon) will I worry. Of course, if Intel's chip does Quake at 100fps and is cheaper than Voodoo 2 and is easily incorporated on the motherboard (which saves money too) and does AGP well we are dead. Competition is expected where money is being made and Intel is a tough competitor.
