*AV* - I am getting mixed sugnals on this. I also read and hear that there has been an increase in demand for 16Meg DRAM cnips. In the scheme of things the clamor should be for the 64Meg and 256Meg chips.

The Asians Fabs manufacture the chips, test the chips, package the chips and even assemble them into the end product, all in their own backyard. I assume (meaning I am not 100% sure), that the packaging materials and lead frames also come out of the Asian region. Seems a shame that they wouldn't work together to bolster each other up by cooperating with minor cash flow issues. Just a thought.
