RE: Do you exercise? The answer is not much.

I have to talk myself into exercising each day, but I do it anyway. I'm 74 with heart failure and I feel pretty good. I have almost no physical limitations, other than I can't lift 100 pounds anymore. :)

Exercise is my fountain of youth! Just a little daily exercise program can do wonders to how one feels and does!

In addition to walking, if you enjoy swimming, try to develop a routine that includes a swim 3 days a week, followed by a walk on in between days, with Sunday off. You will feel a lot better, and it will be of great help in combatting your urge to smoke.

If you do decide to incorporate some, it might be a good idea to start off slowly. Something like walking is good. As someone else pointed out, it would be more to "take off the edge" and burn off some of the excess calories. Sounds like you are at a good body weight right now. Light exercise will help with the bP as well. Sometimes a good idea to check with your doctor first but most I know say "quit smoking and exercize more..."

You are an inspiration !
