Let's talk about Bezos and Amazon.

Retail in this country is dying. Just ask Trump, whose net worth has declined because his buildings have lost value because of it. It is probably the real reason he has a hardon for Amazon and Bezos. Thousands of stores have closed over the years. Worse than even in the Great Depression and ,millions of people have lost their jobs. Many times more than Amazon has employees. About 5 million since 2000, Amazon has about 10% of that figure. Even in the good economy that we have had for the past few years, every year retail hemorrhages jobs.

And the primary reason, not exclusively but primarily, is Amazon. So yes, it creates jobs. For Amazon. But it destroys far more. Anyone with half a brain would realize that. Why does Amazon make so much money, despite having to ship everything? Because it takes less people to sell the same amount.

Now I think it is a net positive for the economy. But I don't lie to myself about it being a job creator.

Do you think economics consists of just platitudes?
