The same here! Some may think of all this volatility as a scary thing but I have come to the conclusion that it is the best environment to make big money! All you need is a detail following of the volume and price fluctuations, a TV with CNBC on, and 3 PCs with one to give you the real live quotes and volume, one to surf various stock discussion groups (SI being of course the best one) for market psychology and/or news, one to use for getting the latest news on stocks and market overall.

> How are you doing with AMAT, and what do you think the range is for the next few weeks?

I bought AMAT at $28 and sold it yesterday at $30 1/4. Then bought it back today at $28 7/8 and sold it at $29 1/2. I think the trend is downward and will be between $26-$32. The next time I will buy would be if AMAt goes to $27.75 or if it breaks through $30.25 and then retreats back to $29 (at which time I will buy at $29.25). But I see what happens...

As for options expiration Friday, the best time to buy would be toward the close of the market in the last few minutes, and then sell on Monday morning (given of course no crazy news comes out of South East Asia). I may give it a rest tomorrow though. I am still very very ameture at this and need to do more studying of the volume and price fluctuation movements before really getting involve!
