One of my issues other than the debt is our life expectancy. It looks like we'll fall three years in a row and we're already at #43. We were #1 in my lifetime. It's not just the "health of our children." It all of us. We spend more than any other country and we're falling further and further behind or more accurately, the rest of the world is going past us. GDP is okay for historical reference but I haven't used it quarterly or even yearly for decades. It's not as important as they say it is. When gas prices soar, so does the price of everything else. Does this increase in prices give us a better way of life or a better economy? No, it transfers money from us to oil producers etc.
