Too late to edit, back in 1981 right after I got out of the Army I was in a motorcycle accident. I spent 3 months in the hospital. It was a bad time and I did not have insurance and was only working part time prior to the accident. You can just imagine the bill. I agreed to make payments every week until it was paid off and suddenly the hospital informed me that I do not owe anymore. I inquired as to why and they just said thank you for your service and that was that. Today I am sure a collection agency would have been hounding me daily. My point is personal responsibility. I never once claimed a victim and knew I owed the hospital but I think somebody was looking out over me. I would have gladly paid the bill as they saved my life. To this day I am grateful and also live my life personally responsible for my actions.
