Judith, I was also looking at that. Could it be that someone wanted shares bad enough to put the order in above the ask in case it was part filled. If the ask was raise then he would almost be sured to get his fill. Only thing is...why did the price go down afterwards ??
Crazy! Same thing happened yesterday on a 15k share sale.

Judith ~ Beats me. When I see a trade go through above the ask I assume (yes, I know what assume means) it is a buy. Either way though, I can see it as positive. If it was a sell, I would think its positive that the MMs are willing to pay that price. If it's a buy, then obviously it would be positive that someone is confident enough to lay down 90k at a time.

Of course Raleigh is the one with the market experience and quite an impressive track record. I'm more like this latest joker that has shown up. I can blow smoke and use jargon but I don't know what in the hell I'm talking about. Hey! Maybe I'll open a web-site and give unsolicited advice to people that don't want it and then I too can become one of them thar 'analyst'. Hang a shingle and I'm in business. ~ Jack of all (stock) trades.

Judith, I have put in limit orders above the ask and they were still filled at the ask. Also, if this was a sell, why would they put a limit above the bid in order to get all or none? It would seem that the (whole) AON, order would be filled easier at the bid, if indeed this was a sell. Hmmmm curious. Was the 15K actually bought at 6.11? Whatever, no biggy.

regards
Mike

Judith: my take on the 15,000 buy is that it was a buy, that likely had to be done in several parts perhaps at several prices. This might also account for a small time lag also. Any expert MM out there to clarify this?? ggg
