I know of a poor family that lost several kids to asphyxiation on a cold day when the family was using an oven to heat the house.

If you search you can find children who drown in pools and are run over by cars in their own driveway.

Ban ovens, cars, pools?

Well I would conclude it is unlikely those present were watching over anyone and if they ever were, they are most likely no longer considered family friends.

Neglect to enable a postpartum abortion is not very nice.
