GOP Congressional investigators are furious after former FBI attorney Lisa Page issued a statement through her attorney notifying a jount House panel that she would ignore a subpoena to appear on Wednesday because she wasn't allowed access to documents by the FBI.

Page's attorney, Amy Jeffress, claimed that "Lisa and I went to the FBI today to review the materials that were previously produced to Congress related to her propsed interview, but after waiting for more than three hours, we were not provided with any documents."

— Paula Reid (@PaulaReidCBS) July 11, 2018 "The Committees have not honored this request," Jeffress said. "As a result, Lisa is not going to appear for an interview at this time."

On Wednesday morning, however, Freedom Caucus chairman Mark Meadows tweeeted that Page and her attorneys did review the requested documents at the FBI on Tuesday, and that "Her failure to appear before Congress this morning had little to do with 'preparation'--and everything to do with avoiding accountability."

Contrary to what her attorneys are telling the media, we just learned Lisa Page actually DID review documents at the FBI yesterday. Her failure to appear before Congress this morning had little to do with 'preparation'--and everything to do with avoiding accountability.

— Mark Meadows (@RepMarkMeadows) July 11, 2018 In response to Page ignoring the subpoena, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte issued a statement Tuesday night suggesting that "Page has something to hide," before pledging to use all available resources to obtain her testimony.

“It appears that Lisa Page has something to hide. She plans to blatantly defy a congressional subpoena by refusing to appear for her deposition. She has known for months that the House Judiciary Committee has sought her testimony as part of our joint investigation with the Oversight Committee into decisions made by the Justice Department in 2016, and she has no excuse for her failure to appear. Lisa Page is a key witness, and it is critical that she come before our committees to answer questions as part of our investigation.

“We will use all tools at our disposal to obtain her testimony. Americans across the country are alarmed at the bias exhibited by top officials at the Justice Department and FBI, and it is imperative Congress conduct vigorous oversight to ensure that never happens again.” Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA)

Other GOP members on the Judiciary Committee issued harsh rebukes to page over Twitter, with Jim Jordan of Ohio writing "One set of rules for regular Americans, a different set for the Swamp!" and Ron DeSantis off Florida calling her "Pathetic."

Lisa Page ignores congressional subpoena, once again showing the double standard. One set of rules for regular Americans, a different set for the Swamp!

— Rep. Jim Jordan (@Jim_Jordan) July 11, 2018 Anti-Trump FBI lawyer Lisa Page is defying a congressional subpoena because she doesn’t want to answer questions or be held accountable. Pathetic.

— Ron DeSantis (@RepDeSantis) July 11, 2018 Oversight committee member Mark Meadows (R-NC) said that the statement from Page's attorney could have better been summed up as "We're choosing to ignore a Congressional subpoena."

This statement from Lisa Page's attorneys could've been better summed up in one short sentence: "We're choosing to ignore a Congressional subpoena"

Indefensible t.co

— Mark Meadows (@RepMarkMeadows) July 11, 2018 Jeffress hit back - claiming that the committee's "Bullying tactics" are unnecessary, adding that "through her actions and words, Lisa has made it abundantly clear that she will cooperate with this investigation."

Then again perhaps Page's refusal to testify is more about not giving Congress ammunition for her former "lovebird" Peter Strzok's scheduled testimony on Thursday.

As Politico noted on Tuesday, By obtaining Page's testimony in a closed-door deposition on Wednesday, committee Republicans would be armed with material to grill Strzok the next day.

On Tuesday morning, President Trump suggested over Twitter that Page and Strzok were "getting cold feet on testifying about the Rigged Witch Hunt headed by 13 Angry Democrats," in reference to the 13 Democrats on the Special Counsel.

I am on Air Force One flying to NATO and hear reports that the FBI lovers, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page are getting cold feet on testifying about the Rigged Witch Hunt headed by 13 Angry Democrats and people that worked for Obama for 8 years. Total disgrace!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 10, 2018 Meanwhile, Jeffress said she received a message from the Department of Justice on Tuesday night around 11 p.m. granting Page's request to review documents related to her testimony.

Brumar,
so now we know that Hillary had many classified emails on her private server. According to the law, that is a felony, because she was trained on how to handle classified material and in having a private email server with classified material on it, makes it an open and shut case of commission of a felony negligence.

The fact that she was not indicted and prosecuted is an open and shut case of bias by Strokz, the FBI, and the Obama Administration officials like Lynch, who tried to squash the investigation by all means at their disposal. These are the facts. I can't believe you are still defending these people, because you can't see beyond your hatred of Trump. I can understand your hatred of Trump, but I do not understand your defense of Hillary. It is open bias to defend her, when we all have documentary evidence of the felony she committed.

GOHMERT: WATCHDOG FOUND CLINTON EMAILS WERE SENT TO ‘FOREIGN ENTITY’
10:08 PM 07/12/2018
Luke Rosiak | Investigative Reporter

A member of the House Committee on the Judiciary said during a hearing Thursday that a government watchdog found that nearly all of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails were sent to a foreign entity and that the FBI didn’t follow-up on that finding.

The Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) found an “anomaly on Hillary Clinton’s emails going through their private server, and when they had done the forensic analysis, they found that her emails, every single one except four, over 30,000, were going to an address that was not on the distribution list,” Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas said during a hearing with FBI official Peter Strzok.

“It was going to an unauthorized source that was a foreign entity unrelated to Russia,” he added.

Gohmert said the ICIG investigator, Frank Rucker, presented the findings to Strzok, but that the FBI official did not do anything with the information.

Strzok acknowledged meeting with Rucker, but said he did not recall the “specific content.”

“The forensic examination was done by the ICIG and they can document that,” Gohmert said, “but you were given that information and you did nothing with it.”

He also said that someone alerted the Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz to the issue.

“Mr. Horowitz got a call four times from someone wanting to brief him about this, and he never returned the call,” Gohmert said.

The ICIG previously caught problems regarding Clinton’s server that the FBI missed. The bureau didn’t notice that some emails were openly marked classified with a “(C)” when they were sent. The ICIG spotted the oversight after the FBI missed it, texts between Strzok and his mistress, former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, show.

“Holy cow,” Strzok wrote, “if the FBI missed this, what else was missed? … Remind me to tell you to flag for Andy [redacted] emails we (actually ICIG) found that have portion marks (C) on a couple of paras. DoJ was Very Concerned about this.”

In late 2017, ICIG Chuck McCullough — who was appointed by former President Barack Obama — took the unusual step of coming forward publicly to say that he perceived pushback after he began raising the alarm about issues with Clinton’s servers to then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

He said he found it “maddening” that Democrats, including Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, were underselling the amount of classified information on the server.

McCullough said he “expected to be embraced and protected,” but was instead “chided” by someone on Capitol Hill for failing to consider the “political consequences” of his investigative findings, Fox News reported.

The ICIG has not publicly disclosed the findings Gohmert described in the meeting between Rucker and Strzok, but the congressman said the watchdog can document them.

Thursday’s exchange is below:

Gohmert: You said earlier in this hearing you were concerned about a hostile foreign power affecting the election. Do you recall the former Intelligence Community Inspector General Chuck McCullough having an investigation into an anomaly found on Hillary Clinton’s emails? Let me refresh your memory. The Intelligence Community Inspector General Chuck McCullough sent his investigator Frank Rucker along with an IGIC attorney Janette McMillan to brief you and Dean Chapelle and two other FBI personnel who I won’t name at this time, about an anomaly they had found on Hillary Clinton’s emails that were going to the private unauthorized server that you were supposed to be investigating?

Strzok: I remember meeting Mr. Rucker on either one or two occasions. I do not recall the specific content or discussions.

Gohmert: Mr. Rucker reported to those of you, the four of you there, in the presence of the ICIG attorney, that they had found this anomaly on Hillary Clinton’s emails going through their private server, and when they had done the forensic analysis, they found that her emails, every single one except four, over 30,000, were going to an address that was not on the distribution list. It was a compartmentalized bit of information that was sending it to an unauthorized source. Do you recall that?

Strzok: Sir, I don’t.

Gohmert: He went on the explain it. And you didn’t say anything, you thanked him, you shook his hand. The problem is it was going to an unauthorized source that was a foreign entity unrelated to Russia and from what you’ve said here, you did nothing more than nod and shake the man’s hand when you didn’t seem to be all that concerned about our national integrity of our election when it was involving Hillary Clinton. So the forensic examination was done by the ICIG — and they can document that — but you were given that information and you did nothing with it. And one of the things I found most egregious with Mr. Horowitz’s testimony, and — by the way Mr. Horowitz got a call four times from someone wanting to brief him about this, and he never returned the call.
