I am not in denial of the history of the Democratic party. I am certainly aware of the links to the Klan. I grew up in the town next to Vidor, TX. It was solidly Democratic when I was a kid. The Klan met every Tuesday at a Baptist Church on 5th Street, IIRC. They held annual rallies. Google "Bloody Vidor". Stormfront claims it as its own. It is something like 97% white. It has probably a half a dozen black families. I also know that Nixon's Southern Strategy was really successful in getting those types to jump to the Republican party. I was in East Texas in those days and I watched it happen. Guess who Vidor went for strongly in the 2016 election? Now there is someone in this conversation who is in denial...
