Hello Matt,
The problem is that Baines is talking about subjects that he and a number of Canadian labs seem on the surface to know nothing at all about. Life for them is simple. There is nothing to learn anymore and the recent breakthroughs in cheap low bidder assays are the best there ever were and the best there ever will be. Sad, but true. What is worse is that a large number of US labs follow the Canadian lead in Bozonian Ignoramus Theory as it applies to analytical chemistry.
However, on the bright side, some large US labs are making little strides into this field, and to their surprise, there is gold in them thar DDs. They are seeing the science as a developing one without consistency. But, it is getting more recognition all of the time.
I admire J. Taylor. He doesn't read like a Rah Rah. He seems to have looked at the DD field with serious effort. I don't always agree with him, but I am sure if he reads my threads, he sees things sometimes different than I do.
I do hold a contempt for companies that get a DD deposit, promote it and then exploit investors. They never intend to mine, just make up stories and bilk the public. I find it hard to separate the serious DD junior from the bunko artists, so I can imagine how hard it is for the general public. That is why I started this thread. So we can all learn.
By the way, the North American Mining Companies spend hundreds of millions of dollars per year in exploration. I know of one company that spent $100 million over 10 years without a discovery. Surley that money is being largely bilked from their stockholders when much of that money is being spent on assays that are incorrect for the specific prospects all too much of the time. The low bidder assays are a fraction of the exploration dollar. A little cheap here and there and what a waste! Believe me, if that money was available to Global, Naxos and Maxam and others, don't you think that after a year or two, major new mines worth billions of dollars would be coming on stream. Just a little food for thought. mike
