"Robert Byrd" Now there was a text book Democrat. I forget what year it was that via Byrd's powerful position as chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee he earmarked something like 85% of the entire US road infrastructure budget to West Virginia. Always looking out for the good of society as a whole.. as long as society lived in West Virginia. When questioned by the media about his actions.. He was non-apologetic. He said..
