TopCat, Maybe, but I remember the same comments being made about Japan....and South Korea for that matter. Did tariffs and protectionism correct that imbalance? Of course not. The balance corrected itself as Japan and South Korea entered the first world. These days, even the Chinese are getting a taste of the finer things in life. They too will want what Japan, Korea, and that "breakaway" island that calls itself Taiwan already have. Free market working as intended. Tenchusatsu
