I imagine a lot of folks who didn't vote because Hillary wasn't good enough for them are getting a bigger civics lesson than they ever imagined. Perhaps this time they will show up in November.

I gave Trump better than 80% chance that he would win against Hillary - and that was before either of them was nominated.

Here's the problem with most people - their social circle is very similar to themselves, so they are often blind to what else is going on. You are better than many because you are an independent. But you are a very left-leaning independent. So your circle is still fairly focused. I am an oddball because I have friends in all sorts of circles, from tattoo artists and bikers to Wall St. bankers, and from immigrants who take ESL to those who trace their ancestry for generations and debate the finer points of English usage. So I see and hear a much broader spectrum of opinions.

I had extensive debates on this thread about the necessity of change and bringing in a candidate that can deliver it. But few people saw it that way. As far as the Dems were concerned, Obama was great and there was no need for change. But they were wrong.
