Indeed. Doctor Copper doesn't like trade wars or other types of economic meltdowns.

The gap keeps narrowing between the 10 yr and 30 yr Treasuries, it's down to .097% today.

Because knowledge is always unevenly distributed throughout any network...

The move down in CU can most probably be attributed to First Mover Awareness, that the automotive industry will be stripping CU out of Automobiles by some %( probably greater than 50%). Its been recently stated that there are kilometers of CU wiring in every car /vehicle.

As the auto industry migrates to NG, batteries, and fuel cells, new systems designs will enable the stripping of the high weight of CU from the complex to be repacked with signaling systems using wireless modules.

In the move away from current methodologies, fuel performance to weight issues, become critical. Copper wiring is in the crosshairs for replacement.

CU has just confirmed that its % of content for every future auto, is about to be lost market share for CU, within the total CU supply demand equation.

No other explanation or speculation is necessary.
