ADR REPORT - ADRs mixed in nervous trade

By Ian Simpson

NEW YORK, Jan 14 (Reuters) - American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) were mixed in nervous trade amid continued worries about East Asia and the larger New York markets.

''There is a blanket of uncertainty covering us,'' a trader said. ''The problems (in Asia) have not been resolved.''

Despite recoveries in Asian markets and signs that Indonesia would go forward with economic reforms as part of an International Monetary Fund bailout, markets were worried about talk of a possible default by Sino Land Co Ltd (0083.HK), a Hong Kong property company.

Sino Land denied the rumors.

Indonesia ADRs moved higher on relief over the reforms. Indonesian atellite Corp (ISAT.JK) (NYSE:IIT - news), a provider of international telecommunications services, was up 1-4/16, or almost nine percent, to 15-5/16.

PT Telekom (NYSE:TLK - news; TLKM.JK) was up 11/16, or 8.3 percent, to 8-15/16.

The companies' ADRs were among percentage-gain leaders on the New York Stock Exchange.
