There's no way Nintendo would use a Zip. Can you imagine the piracy concerns if they went with such a standard device? EVERYONE would be trading copies of their favorite games. Much better for Nintendo if they make something proprietary or use a less standard device.

I believe that it was a play on words. I think what they were tying to say was that the so-called ZIP's seek time was 6 times faster that the 12X CD ROM's seek time ?????
