You are making the same mistake Obama made with regard to the judiciary. You are conflating political theory with political reality.

He did not pack the courts because he did not believe in legislating from the bench. And that makes sense in theory :)>! But in reality that is what we sort of need to do to keep up with civilization. Congress wont do it.

Parties: think of this time as a war and the Republicans as a tribe raiding and killing its neighbors. And each party as a tribe that can stop them.

Only the Democratic party Presently, has as arm large enough to challenge the Republicans, but if we cannot get them into the battle, like now, you see the results.

After we rid the world of Republicans then we can fool around with third parties :)>.

Do you feel third parties should be outlawed? I'm sure both the (D) and (R) party would LOVE to do that! They both work hard to make it the de-facto truth.
