Like humans, beavers and bears evolve to extend their range and reproductive success.

The beavers which succeed further north perhaps have more fat stores, better fur and other variables that enable them to live further north. Or rivers are now available or all sorts of variables.

The simplistic idea that 0.7 degree Celsius warming over 100 years resulted in a wider range is no good.
