They said that Aian business was the best ever but it only makes up about 17% of total sales. Most of the sales to Asia are parts that go into products that are re-sold to N. American or Eropean markets. So the majority of the threat of the Asian situtaion is that it could take the wind out of the sails of worldwide prosperity and expansion, leading to an overal economic contraction.

I think the attitude of the developed countries should be to recognize the strength in the worldwide economy and that the Asian situation cannot logically effect take down the giant. What can take it down is if businessmen and consumers turn paranoid. I say balls to the wall and on with it - force Asian reforms or pull out financial support - they must rationalize their governmental and konbon policies or go back to the modern equivalent of the stone age. (Change is needed and only strong force is likely to cause real change to take place - hope I am wrong about it).
