I can gaurantee that weaker pc mfg'ers, suppliers, channels will go bankrupt.
what cpq started using was electronic supply chain management including sending edi to their vendor's vendor .
being able to manage vendor's vendor inventory is what really
puts the chain in a reduction of inventory across the board instead
of a vendor warehouse next to cpq having allot of inventory to satisfy this 24 hr response time. It's actually closer to 4-8 hrs.

I guess the thread sees why I kept saying that jimbo was all wet in his description of bto.

one of the issues that is killing the vendors now is they don't
have the edi to handle being a vendor of ibm or cpq. In fact most the fareast mfg'ers don't even use edi to vendors.
part of the article is that it will really over whelm many of the vendors to have the leading edge systems to handle being a vendor
