There is obviously no justification to produce any item whose costs of production are higher than its selling price, except in the case of external goods or services which are required by society to function properly and which normal market mechanisms do not price accurately. However, there seems to be plenty of gold above ground for sale at the moment. Dont get me wrong, I am a beleiver in the value of gold. Its just that sometimes things can be interpreted in more than one way.
