Macheon,
It is well known that Obama knew about Russia's attempt to interfere with our democracy and our elections. Obama thought that Russia would help Hillary win, because Trump was a stronger leader and would not be good for Russia.
I really doubt that. I think everyone involved pretty much assumed that Hillary would win. Russia just wanted to sow some seeds of discord for a future Hillary administration.

Obama did nothing because (a) he surmised that the Russian hacking was relatively benign, and (b) he didn't want any retaliatory actions to backfire and help the Trump campaign.

And he was correct on both accounts, but the Democrats conveniently forget history with their McCarthyism 2.0.
