Don't get me wrong he was sincere - just wrong on the system of government he imagined to free the workers of the tyranny of the rich. I think much of his understanding of Capitalism is spot on and he was a decent and kind minded person.

A couple of things to remember reading Marx. The first is that the period prior to the Manifesto is much more Hegelian, much less economist. The second is that much more than more major thinker, the reading of Marx changes dramatically across time.
