Like the American Justice Department and European authorities, the Japanese Fair Trade Commission has launched an antitrust investigation into Microsoft's business practices. The Japanese commission, which raided Microsoft's Tokyo offices Tuesday, alleges that Microsoft is requiring PC makers in Japan that use its operating system -- including NEC and Fujitsu -- to install its word processing and spreadsheet software and exclude software produced by other firms, the Nikkei Net newspaper reported today.
