Like the British Empire 200 years ago China can get into trade and geopolitics with swarms of countries around the world.

China will not make the British Empire mistake of making everyone British with British passport.. China will keep them at arm's length. Also China is comparable in population to the whole of Africa so has demographic heft as well as economic.
