It's 3% from the hi or low MA. If x = 5MA(hi), then the channel is at 1.03x. If x = 5MA(lo) then lower marker = .97x.

If I were going to use hi-low somehow, I'd use something like hi + .15 (hi -low) and low - .15 (hi-lo) possibly as much as .25 or .33 depending on how often I wanted to trade.
