Do you think there is any validity to the idea that some people - perhaps maybe even on both sides - are being manipulated by the media? Sure. Not just some people. Most people aren't very thoughtful if they're paying attention at all. They find voices with which they feel comfortable and accept whatever frame that tribe puts on things. Perhaps you've seen the studies that show that people align with whatever party their crowd is into. If they had counter positions before, they subconsciously adapt to the new team's positions. Humans are social animals.
