Then let me be more specific with you. As a national platform, Dems could pledge that: (1) If elected, they will work with everyone - including the GOP - to permanently put an end to gerrymandering (2) To give the same kinds of protection to the people in bankruptcy courts as the corporations enjoy. (3) To help provide affordable daycare for single parents. (4) To make public campaign funding a priority. (5) To... These are not platforms that GOP can easily argue with. And they matter a lot more than do I want Medicare for all or just the old Obamacare.
