Time magazine did a story on Gore and Bush when they were running against each other. All the Gore pics were small and in black in white. One Bush pic was two pages, full color. Then I read that Bush treated the press to lobster and fine wine while Gore gave them sandwiches. The sandwich crowed destroyed Gore and the lobster crowd adored Bush. When Bush lied about WMDs the media helped him lie. Why? He fed them lobster and he gave their corporate bosses lots of easy stories and great profits because of his war and tax cuts. When we learned Bush lied about WMDs and then stayed in the war after he lied (proving he lied) the media did something new. They said it's impossible to know his mind so they couldn't say he lied. But, that was crap. We know he lied because his reasons for war were not true and he stayed in the war after his excuses for war was exposed. Reasons for war never change. Excuses must change. Manipulating the media isn't hard. Palin and now Trump does it every day. We're not talking about great minds. We're talking about people who are too damn lazy to do their jobs. A lie or leak is easy - someone hands it to them. It's perfect for modern-day journalists. They don't have to do anything. If Dems want to win an election, they need to learn how to control the media and it doesn't have to be true. The media never cares if it's true. They want the easy story. Someone has to hand it to them. Whitewater was the same thing. The media let the gop lie and they accepted their lies because it was an easy story. They even lied about Hillary murdering Vince Foster and the media let them get away with it. After they learned every lie is news, lying about WMDs was childs play. Again, look at the numbers of lies that are headline news today? It's every single day.
