The gop simply lied about having a replacement plan for the ACA, 'repeal and replace.' No one in the media dared ask to see their plan since they knew it didn't exist so their slogans became the story, year after year. Did they have to have power to do this? No. Trump didn't have power and he was able to control the media year after year. Again, you ask the wrong question. I'm talking about learning how to control the media with a narrative that doesn't have to be true (the media doesn't care about truth anymore). I'd prefer truth but it's not necessary in this post-truth world the media and the gop conspired to create.
