This article states 80 K spent on average in the last year of life for healthcare. As the last year of healthcare consumes 30% of the Medicare budget the average cost of Medicare per citizen is around 300 K total. Still checkmate. Low skilled immigrants harm the most needy US citizens

You forget that in the US, we don't believe in dying with dignity. Instead, we believe that death is one last golden opportunity to make as much $$'s as we can off of someone. So yeah the exact number may not be correct, but the general idea that we spend A LOT in the US on the dying is correct.

Of course the cost depends on how much $$ and/or medical coverage the person has. Don't expect anybody to try and keep a horribly dying, miserable, suffering person alive for one more day or one extra hour if there is no $$'s to be made.

As for how that relates to immigration and economics, I don't think it does. The system does its best to ensure that as many people as possible die broke. Adding a few more suckers (immigrants) into the mix doesn't change that one way or the other, but it does potentially increase the pool of suckers to steal from ASSUMING you can keep them productive long enough...
