Ron, You stated: Canada was used as a comparason as to why your currency is down.

Canada is a resource base country. Thr real or imagined threat of reduced exports to the far east is the main reason for the drop in the CD. There may be other causes but I beleive exports are the biggy.

Ron,

<<The question that was posed on a previous post has to deal with debt, gold and the reasons why. Canada is a neighbor and close by. Canada was used as a comparason as to why your currency is down. Debt. >>

As far as debt goes ... I am not sure that we are in that much more debt that you .... as I said in another post, we will be running a surplus soon .... I hope our government is smart enough to pay down our 550 billion dollar debt with it.

<<You like your government for what it gives you but that is not always the general consensis. There is always someone that has to give up more then what they get.>>

Of course, Ron ... you are not going to get 100% concensus in any country, here, in the US, or wherever. Nobody like to pay taxes (I bet you do not either <g>) ... but _most Canadians would _never give up some of our social programs that help to ensure a more balanced and tolerable society. To this day, you can walk through most Canadian downtown cores (in the dead of night) without fear of getting shot, robbed or mugged. That, to me is worth something - and says lots about what a more balanced allocation of wealth is all about. BTW ... there are lots of _very wealthy Canadians .... some are even billionaires <g>.

Good trading to you too,

MB
