Only 50% fuel cut per passenger mile? I thought it was about 90%. But that's from memory and maybe that 90% is for long haul A380/787/777 versus DC8 rather than 737 and other short range airliners.

In money, air fares have gone from 2 months gross pay in 1974 for NZ to UK down to 3 days for the same job I was doing then. 60 days down to 3 days.

No wonder there are millions of people in the sky at any time.
