Hello Rand,
First let me say that the grinding economics and scale considerations are of concern for all mining operations. I hope Naxos knows how to do what they want to do before building a pilot plant. I have no feel for what they are going to do. That is why I get so concerned for them and for all of the DD followers. A success at Naxos and all of the DDs will benefit. A bust and all DDS will suffer some setback. We need some good, but accurate news.
As for the assay values being reported by Naxos. All of this COC work has been expensive, but the results have been encouraging to all of us as ammunition to the Nay Sayers. I do not know of any other practical reason for the expense. But lets discuss the assays further. At this time an assay of 3 opt platinum means only that, no more. It is an assay. On a normal ore the commercial recovery of 90% of the assay is exceptional. A recovery of 60% of those valuse is considered not good extractive results. Sometimes economics dictates that the lower recoveries produce cheaper metals, and higher recoveries are cost ineffective. Sometimes higher recoveries are not possible. In any case, the recoveries I am refering to are for conventional ores. The percentage of recovery results in the DDs are not established yet. At least not in a commercial plant. In the end, it is the metal in the box for market that counts. I expect that the first recoveries from a commercial plant will be less than good and will improve with time. I don't know this for sure, but I suspect that the current recoveries for Global are excellent in proving a point, but are no where near 100%. mike
