Forgot to mention that the good Dr. that performed the angioplasty on my wife was a Jew! Praise be to God.
When he (the Dr.) said they may not be able to do the angioplasty because of the blockage and the fact that it was a long narrow artery---and would require open-heart surgery---I told the Dr. we would be praying---that he could do it! And two hours later, he reported that he did!

E. Stanley Jones has told a story of a little boy who stood before a picture of his absent father, and then turned to his mother and said wistfully, 'I wish Father would step out of the picture."
This is the meaning of the Incarnation - God has stepped out of the picture (Universe) and become a man to live and to die for mankind. Jesus showed us the kind of God that rules the universe- a God who loves and who has come to redeem.

Thank God for Jesus! Messiah. Yeshua. Redeemer. King of Kings. Lord of Lords.

Greetings Nancy, One of the best sources covering the history of the Jews that I personaly know of is the writings of Josephus, the first century Jewish historian. Josephus was born in A.D. 37 of a priestly Jewish family, was well educated and followed the Pharisaic form of Judaism. We depend on Josephus for most of our knowledge of the new testament background. If you are not familiar with Josephus's writings Nancy, I strongly encourage you to get his latest updated book. His writings are indispensible to a proper understanding of Jewish thought, background, and history up to and around the time of Christ. The Book that I have is called; The works of Josephus, ISBN O-913573-86-8, by Hendrickson Publishers, Peabody, Mass. 01961-3473. I have also other sources and teachings from different brothers in Christ. Trust this helps you Nancy. Robert
