Its a nice idea, but how do you qualify the engineers contributing? It would be great to say that we engineers are above bickering and always take the high road (compared to you sordid investors :-) But the reality is that we red herring ourselves on cool technology as often as you guys fall prey to marketing hype. Also we aren't very clued in on things like basic economics. As a case in point - talk to some engineers about ATM at the desktop. I personally would have never beleived that FastEthernet could have so effectively destroyed both 100baseVG and ATM - but it has. The problem is that I was looking at it technically and not thinking about cost models. As much as it pains me to say so - engineers brought forth both beta and VHS and the engineers picked beta. Everyone else bought VHS! As for learning from this - I have, but I also bought a DVD and can't rent a movie anywhere :-) John
