I would not refer to ASND's earnings at this point in time as 'predictable'.....

Andreas,

I would, having listened to ASND management. Actually, I think it is easy to predict that 4Q97 earnings won't disappoint below the .22 or .23 that analysts predict. I also think it is easy to predict that ASND won't blow-out on the upside, as management has stated that it wants to retain high visibility for the quarters going forward.

The same holds true for all of 1998. Again, mgmt. has put forward a conservative estimate of 15-20% revenue growth, one that assumes ZERO growth from non-Japan Asia. Again, however, there likely will not be a blow-out in any quarter. The stated objective is to be conservative (causing analysts to be conservative) and then to hit the analysts estimates towards the high side, saving revenue for future quarters.

75% of the upward momentum in the past month is takeover hope-related - andreas samson

Andreas,
Predictable, is relative in this case I agree, but I don't buy into the take over rise currently. Of course my "exctasy" could be related to only being down 6% at this point. After all it's the journey, not the destination that's fun. Regards and capital gains to all. DHB
