<<O.T.:Sorry, Paul. I have a hard time being polite, sometimes>>

There is no excuse for not being polite. You can state your case, including that someone else's statement is extremely incorrect, without making a personal attack. I urge you to continue to do this, as people's feelings seem to be easily hurt on these message boards. You can say "this statement is completely at odds with all known facts and investing principles" without saying "you are an idiot and a liar".

If you want to see how fast a good message board can become useless, check out QGLY. About 2/3 of the posts, for a while, were related to who was calling whom on the telephone at 4.00 in the morning and hanging up.

It's possible to be polite yet firm.
Politeness doesn't have to mean acceptance.

Jacob, >She was spending a lot more money than was coming in, and doing creative accounting to cover it up.<

I understand completely. Today, I got a call from my Brother-in-law saying that his son asked him to call me and ask for a loan to bail him (son) out. The son and his wife had made poor choices with their expenses greatly exceeding their revenues. The bottom line was that son and wife, according to the information, had received a summons to appear in court and possibly may lose their house. Son and wife did not appear in court saying that they did not understand the summons. The son laid a trip on my brother-in-law saying that if he loses his house he may lose his family. IMO, one thing that our generation may have done which is detrimental to our offsprings is giving to much without passing the concept on that "Life is a bundle of choices." We make some good choices and some bad choices, and, therefore, have consequences from our choices.

As a past school administrator and business manager I have seen that bailing out individuals when they have made poor choice rather than allowing them to pay the consequences of their choice, IMO, does not help the individual make better choices in the future.

Jacob, you made the right choice in terminating the individual. But, you are right many individuals have difficulty in biting the bullet. It is kind of like pulling the trigger in buying AMAT at the $26. <G>

Just my opinion.
