A bomb explosion on Wednesday in Beijing demonstrated the potentially violent situation that could ensue as state-sector workers resist government reforms. The issue is of the utmost importance for all Chinese leaders.

The bomb exploded in the complaints department of the government railways office in Beijing, killing three and injuring six. The bomb had been made by a migrant worker who is believed to have committed suicide.
