Reasons why I'm NOT buying now.

1) Oracle is facing tremendous pressure from other software solution
providers which INCLUDES a database within their package.
Specifically, SAP, BAAN, Peoplesoft, MS-SQL

2) Slowing demand for Databases in General - How many more
"television sets" does a 3 bedroom home need? The DB
market is reaching a saturation point. Check out SYBS, IFMX
etc. Its not a coincidence these guys are reporting slower biz.

3) Theri VP of Domestic Sales recently left, and their key
salesfolks have been interviewing....at least in NYC.

4) DOUBLE-BOOKING GAME - The scariest info I received is
Oracle is up to their old tricks again. IFMX recently fell victim
to this and is paying for it now. Essentially....when an "outside"
salesman makes a deal.....he'll credit it to himself (obviously)...
but also tips the telesales force about the impending deal...and
gives him/her credit also. On the books....a $50K order now
becomes $100K. The "bad order" evenually gets knocked
down on a good qtr. as a write off. This is a simplified
explanation of the games software co's. play. The game works
well......UNTIL the good qtrs stop rolling in. Then the
"chargebacks" have no where to hide.

5) "Uncle Larry" - has a known problem with loving life a bit toooo
much. Between his "coke" habit and impregnating just about
every secy in oracle.....it'll be hard for him to focus on the core
business.
