SEOUL, South Korea, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- SK Telecom (NYSE: SKM)
announced today that it reached the three million mark in its CDMA (code

only four months from its two million subscriber base recorded in August 1997,

From the time the company introduced its commercial CDMA cellular service

"As a pioneer of CDMA technology commercialization, we are proud to have
shown the world that CDMA is the technology of choice," stated Dr. Jung Uck
Seo, president of SK Telecom. "Furthermore, we will devote ourselves even
more to bring the technology of the next generation, IMT 2000, to the market
