My position is that whoever was the toughest at the table a year ago, the "other guy" made a big mistake not wrapping up an alliance with Ligand much earlier, since Ligand has more and more leverage as time passes. Robinson probably is much more patient than me (fortunately for all of us shareholders), because I definitely would have walked away from this unfinished deal the day we got Lilly. As it is, if a Leptin deal is finally signed with this partner, I will continue to be skeptical of the partnership, and would not be surprised to see it eventually end unsatisfactorily for both companies.

Of course, DR probably has his strategy all worked out exclusive of my advice. (:->)
